MSO, broadcasters to meet in November over a la carte pricingThe dialogue between multi-system operators (MSOs) and broadcasters that had started some weeks ago has been stalled till November.
Though no agenda has been decided upon, sources say the issue of a la carte channels and tariff freeze would be discussed.MSOs say the debate would be around the issue of pricing and what kind of bundles they would be allowed to make for the subscribers out of the a la carte channels they receive from the broadcasters. The broadcasters will have to follow the directive of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) in deciding the pricing of the channels.The 4 October order says that the a la carte rates of each pay channel shall in no case exceed three times the average rate of the bouquet
