MSO, broadcasters to meet in November over a la carte pricingThe dialogue between multi-system operators (MSOs) and broadcasters that had started some weeks ago has been stalled till November.
Though no agenda has been decided upon, sources say the issue of a la carte channels and tariff freeze would be discussed.MSOs say the debate would be around the issue of pricing and what kind of bundles they would be allowed to make for the subscribers out of the a la carte channels they receive from the broadcasters. Waiting for this to be implemented before I kick out many of the useless paychannels from my home... :yahoo:

i hope it happens on dec 1. this is the only way cost of DTH & Cable is gonna come down, stupid channels will be out, will imporve quality and customers will drive TRP's based on viewership and not one off events.

by this, we can get channels what we want and kickout useless channels. am i right  also heard that, new guidelines were prepared for dth services. when they will be implemented?

Im ready to pay 100 bucks for all free channels plus Rs 5/- per paychannel which I require. I can limit it to around 20 channels which will limit my cable/DTH bill to 200/month. :).

But i am sure the broadcasters are cooking up something already. they are no way going to have an arpu below rs 250. they will find someway to charge us. may be something like a sports package, movie package, music package.Only hope is new dth players like bluemagic giving it for freee for few months to drive competion rates down. i dont mind paying 300 per month as long as i get a decent advt free music ( not hindi trailers ), exclusive movie channel etc.
