I dont know whats the deal
people are gong crazy for it. For me, all we ever needed was Windows XP. But they keep making them and people keep on buying them.
I think they are allowing even non-legit win7 copies to upgrade. Even those activated by Diaz(??) cracks. Not that I would ever want to upgrade unless forced to for some reason.
ubuntu will be too much of learning. Dont have that kind of energy now. I know most people would think of me as an idiot but keeping OS and software updated is way overrated. there are ways in which you can keep it secured. I don't recommend it for everyone though. Win7 version i use has never been updated and i know it is infection free. I am no expert but i know a thing or two about security. If every new version fixes previous bugs then it adds new bugs too with every new feature that gets added into it.
i do not think there is much of a learning curve. you just need to find alternatives for apps that you use. i actually plan to shift myself back again once i dump my 30" display for something smaller. i cannot manage with crappy cursor acceleration that ubuntu has on a display of this size. that drives me crazy.
