Windows 10

Not sure - It did say "Downloading Critical Update" for a few minutes - but I doubt it would have been 10 GB - I guess you dont have to install all the patches on a clean system. A subsequent patch may take care of previous updates as well..

Plus, they might be regularly updating the ISO to have the patches incorporated as well...

The download shows 2.7 GB total.. So, I guess time to take a break.

Sidenote: I did not choose locale etc & choose express settings , so PC is in US timezone etc - not sure if it had anything to with the prompt

Meanwhile my own wait for Win10 is likely to continue...

Express setting during upgrade would change your default browser and other apps to Microsoft's own. This is the thing that is causing a lot of heartbreak for Mozilla as they are losing a lot of people to Edge with Windows 10 update.

I posted a screenshot showcasing one of the screens you get if you do not pick Express install:

I know - but considering it was a clean PC - I wanted to get it up & running - and then as and when other software is downloaded/installed things can be changed .

yup. it also enables a lot of shit related to privacy... location, camera, voice and other things. people are going to find out more with time. i am still finding out weird features and disabling them. i mean it is largely the same thing i approve on android devices because i kind of trust google but microsoft? naah.

And of course, disable p2p in Windows Updates settings to save bandwidth. I am not sure if it is enabled on fresh installs.
