this is crazy stuff. i mean sure businesses are going to be ok with this. but for consumers, this is not an option.

By the second year it will cost more than the original OS license. I don't see why that should be an issue. By year third, you will have paid 3 times than what you pay for a new windows license. Wohooo.

based on reddit discussion on this, there are plans for extended support for consumers too at a cost. these are enterprise prices.

Many of our Development Environment software (IDE) are not yet compatible with Win 11, so we are still on Win 10.
Those people who are not in Software Development roles have got Win 11 installed on their machines.

Is there any method wherein I can disable MS from shoving unwanted updated down my throat.
Given how MS is desperate to force users to migrate to Win11 so much as to it is willing to break its best OS till date, I wanted to stop MS from pushing those update. Also my machine is not compatible with win11 so yeah, that's good!

Things I have tried..
1. Paused updated for like 35 days from the Update settings.
2. Disabled wupdate from gpedit.

Did not go for regedit because for obvious reasons. Also, the blog mentioned that post anniversary update, the reg hack doesn't work.

You can always try disabling Windows update service.
