Lol..Well they are ending any further editions of Windows after 10. That should take care of the fragmentation problem. Not sure how having different edition of same Windows version poses a problem as long as the basic architecture is same?

He is playing the long game. I doubt Microsoft investors want to wait for five years to see results.

I still can't believe windows 10 is last and afterwards there is only free updates, especially when windows 10 is updatable free for existing windows 7 and 8 users. Whether M$ is trying to become Google? Hard to believe...

You think all updates would be free. Apple charges you for downloading updates to its OS. MS can do the same.

Apple OS X updates have been free for a while now.

Apple only charged for updates to iPod touch initially. But made them free later on. OS X updates have been free for the last two major releases at least.
