Just curious - what if someone upgrades from a pirated version - will there by any difference - now or in future -asking so that I can blast MS support in case if marks me so

from what i have read. you can upgrade. it would be a trial version. it would stop working after a while. user would be given an option to pay and activate the window. though someone mentioned that some cracks are not detected properly by microsoft. i would not bet on that. you basically fuck up a perfectly fine working copy of windows if you upgrade a peerated copy.

BTW.. I had updated to media center edition. I got a different key. Tried using both :/

it should work fine after the update the keys are irrelevant with the free upgrade

True. I get that part. My question is how to find out if MS will not be expecting me to "buy" after few days...

i doubt so. you could install windows 8 without entering a key and it worked as a trial version for 30 days i think.
this is how i imagine upgrading pirated copies of windows would work.
