So the one which my friend got today and had ordered through my account is apparently defective. Its not turning on. Although I have asked him to check whether battery is properly inserted and charge it for some time etc. If it is defective, can it be returned to flipkart or has to be to Xiaomi? Also, will they refund or give a new phone?

you should be able to see the options available in the flipkart order backend. i am sure they would issue a refund if you press for it if the option does not exist.

Call Customer Call number of Flipkart.. There will be a Return button in your Orders List... I think you have to click that button and the eKart fellows will come and collect it from you...

It worked for him eventually, it was completely discharged, just needed to be charged for some time.

Guys, I was logged in quite before hand today for Redmi 4G
Clicked buy now as anyone could do once the button came up and instantly got msg, "OUT OF STOCK"
however other friends got it today.

if anyone has one in cart, let me know, I need it for a friend.

So Redmi 4G was gone in a second, as said earlier don't know who are those guys
who can click even before the "buy now" button appears.

anyway friends who offered me one said "cash on delivery" is not available for my pincode
seems flipkart is not allowing Rs.9999/- for COD while they sold Redmi 1S thru COD at same pincode.

later in evening I managed to grab 2 Redmi 1S, one for family, other was spare, virus was late in sending PM so passed
it to a local friend.
