right. real time notifications are available on very few apps. because twitter is not giving out access to the streaming api which is needed for the same. so most apps end up refreshing manually every x number of minutes which is of course not healthy for the battery. developer of tweet lanes was supposed to add this feature but got delayed. an update is long due.and do check the option in the dropdown to get the pro version for free when it reaches v1.

I dont know why but I just seem to be content with 'Twitter for Android'. Its not the best but does almost everything I need.

Random question: How much battery life do you approximately get on your GNex?

official client does everything of course. but i do not like it because it does not follow ics ui guidelines. i have to click buttons to switch between tabs which alone is painful for me. but i keep it installed just for the notifications. :D--1.5 day with very little usage. it lasts a day with some usage. if i am traveling? and the phone is on charge while navigation is being used? the phone would have less charge compared to when i started. :D basically, it's fine for regular usage. but then i am not a typical user. i hardly make or receive calls (sometimes there are no calls for 2-3 days in one go). i rarely go out of the home so it is usually lying idle with wifi connected always.

tweetdeck is no longer useful on mobiles. the company is largely focused on the desktop version which gets more frequent updates. on android, i finally found a client that works well for me. falcon pro :D

Last time I checked, Falcon was beta. Have they updated to the stable version? And is it worth buying?

it does not have multi-account support. other than that it is fantastic. and nicely priced too. it became paid when it came out of beta. of course every update is a work in progress so there are some buggy builds. at times he had to release multiple builds in an hour based on user feedback.
