hearing abt zimbra for first time. whats was the use of buying it when yahoo didnt even promote it

zimbra is like hosted google apps. it is not aimed at regular peeps like you and me. it is an alternative of microsoft exchange. it is used by businesses and universities in USA and perhaps europe... yahoo had acquired zimbra in 2007... used some elements to enhance yahoo mail. and now they want to get rid of it. why? coz google apps is kicking their ass.

just saw the screenshots, new yahoo looks completely based on zimbra

well yeah... if gmail was not there zimbra would have been the 'revolutionary' email client of the 2000s.

yep, b4 google, yahoo was a revolution, hotmail was too, but yahoo surpassed hotmail soon.but then yahoo started making wrong decisions and wrong purchases and wrong projects.and now they are scrapping everything one by one.

one of the worst decision by Yahoo was NOT to improve their search but instead they outsourced search to Google, Google took the opportunity and got enough money to surge ahead.And by the time yahoo realized that google is getting too powerful and it scrapped google, it was way too late.
