Yahoo Maktoob (Arabic and English) genre-specific media sites, including News, Celebrity, Movies, Style, Helwa, Sports and Weather, will close and the pages will redirect to the Yahoo Maktoob homepages in Arabic and English.

Even they are not allowing to edit Yahoo Profile or change profile pic. Besides I had Yahoo login set for Truecaller, thats also gone now.

yahoo probably has two web properties these days which has some value. yahoo news and yahoo mail most of the rest have been shut down. flickr is too messed up to fetch any value today.

While today we provide basic interoperation between the legacy product and the new Messenger, we encourage all of our users to complete their transition to the new Yahoo Messenger as we will no longer support the legacy platform as of August 5, 2016. Yahoo profile was first thing people visited to know about someone.

Google had just search engine, on top, in those days.

Their first mistake was to use "Google search" inside Yahoo search.

And their downfall began. They just could not make money out of best products.
