The stories are based on a guy who used a VPN and a brand new account to access YouTube. He was recommended edgy kiddie videos within two clicks. It was trending on reddit for hours few days ago!

So he did start with a very edge keyword search. but yeah. some kind of content should remain out of recommended videos or trending pages unless a user has a longer history of searching for those kind of videos. not within 30 seconds of usage i think?
 
oh yeah I remember this too. I searched for OFTD (outfit of the day) term because a friend of mine told me to search and within few mins I entered into weird part of youtube
