I dont understand why they want to decieve people into buying their stuff.. Luring customers with low price offers and later duping them by slapping hidden charges. No one is safe..Perhaps, its time to send flowers to these companies.. (Lagey raho) :thumb:
that is the reason they charge a premium for their set top boxes which are locked. they know that the customer would not be happy in most cases but they would stick with them due to high initial investment on the set top box. trai has done little for dth customer base.

Please let me tell you the following few things,
1.what was your previous package? Maxi?
2. If your maxi pack is valid till say 15 Jan 09, then it will expire on 15 Jan 09, then you have to renew the pack as per the new packs introduced by dish TV.
3. since you are in old maxi pack you have to opt for platinum and also if you dont have some channels in that platinum, you have to opt for ala carte.
4. Platinum, cnbc, colour 275+25+15= 315+ tax 12.36 %= 315+39= Rs 354,
5. This Rs 354 is valid for 1 month i.e 30 days only, not 31 days
6. you have paid Rs 1000 on 23 Dec 08, will come for 85 days
7. 354/30 = Rs 11.79 and Rs1000/Rs 11.79 = 84.76 days
8. The total no of days will be Dec 9+ Jan 31+ Feb 28+ Mar 26= 85 days
9.you shd get till 26 Mar all the platinum+ cnbc+ color channels

Another thing. I had a child connection bought in May 2008 with one year free. Instead of making one year free, they just added 1500 in my account. That was pure cheating.

Its not compulsary that you have to renew as per new packages, if you want to retain your old packages then you can retain that by clicking on option of retaining old pack while making payment.

Saurabh, the distv software doesn't bother about the channel mismatchesif you opt for platinum and color then it will charge 275+15+taxes, there is no any check in the software whether the channel is available in platinum.
More over Mr Admin has parent child connection, which will confuse us a lot his parent connection maxi period is 22 Dec 2007 to 21 Dec 2008 ( I think)Child connection period is May 2008 to May 2009 ( he said) After the expiry of parent connection in Dec 2008, if he renews it with ala carte then the child connection also shd get all the channels like parrent connection Here the confusion starts....:huh:Now the child conection is 155 + taxplatinum is 275+ taxif he adds ala carte in parent, then how will they charge for the child which is in old maxi- free offer till May 2009 That is why they are asking for extra payment:frown:but how they will calculate this?
