no one at the moment. airtel iptv had its advantages. it suck now. :) there you have my answer now. i have no liking for ANY dth company.

Well Agreed. All DTH ops suck more and more money. I hope the Age old TRAI implements CAS system all over India and gives some rebate regarding the TAX for DTH cos.

well yeah. consumer is the one who is left powerless in the DTH scenario. so many new technologies have been introduced. DVR, HD... there are few avenues for customers to upgrade in case they do not want to buy a new connection. i would have preferred a situation where you take a connection on rental with no big upfront payment. :(

But still DTH cos are in losses. And most of them arent even following the TRAI regulations that they shud keep the STB open, in the sense, even after the subscription dates end the customers shud be able to watch FTA channels, but that's not the case. With their crap kind of software they are blocking evrthing.

well there are very few industries where you can be profitable in a couple of months/years.

if these companies had played it nicely with each other... they would have had given the customer the power and not the media companies.

let the customers pick individual channels. let that decide what channels to pay for to get the rights to deliver. and delivery only those channels.

customer would be happy. media companies would not be in a position to demand their own prices... there would be enough space on transponders for the good channels.

if the DTH companies had a sizable amount of market in their hands... it would have been them deciding the pricing of new channels. :)
