Android 2.3 should be banned for new devices. Only makes the whole Android segment messy.

lol. this is a 100 dollar phone without contract for the us market. 100 dollar phones cannot really run ics or jb unless google is subsidizing them.

2.3 is still better than 2.1 or 2.0... it can still run 90% of the regular apps on the google play store.

True, but Karbonn and Micromax have shown that a $100 - $120 phone running ICS isn't exactly difficult. Of course one shouldn't expect top of the line specs, but ICS is quite capable in itself as you know. GB on the other hand, cannot really be picked up without some decent customisation on top of it, which adds not only to bloatware, but also inconsistent experience across devices.
