Got a back ups 1000w about 8 months back, didn't expect it to conk out so soon, especially from APC.

The ups loses charge almost instantly after power goes down and proceeds to shut down, possibly an issue with battery. Can someone suggest how to go about with this?

Any APC number I can call into and ask them to troubleshoot in bangalore? Any guidance much appreciated.

APC comes with a 2 year onsite warranty. Do call APC customer care to fix it.

The batteries of my 1KVA APC UPS went kaput in just over a year and they replaced it with a new one which again went kaput just after the warranty period got over. Dumped the Exide batteries for good and got Amaron which I guess is about to complete two years and I still get 35-40 minutes backup on my current PC load.

But yeah, no other option than to stick to the batteries they provide till you have warranty.

Thank you everyone, the APC guy came quickly and replaced the battery. Very quick service. Is the extended warranty worth it? Or better to buy a Amaron battery after 2 years?
