You people are so lucky, my area Airtel representative said. Sir your area has lot of issues, unwanted digging and wire cut. So we can give only connection to the first street residents not people in 2nd and 3rd..LOL

I don't think having an Airtel connection can be called lucky. Airtel should be available everywhere like BSNL.

I've been using this connection since 2005. Before that, I'd to wait for an year for Airtel to come to my street.

@balajik I was also using Airtel nearly 4 years in my old residency. Faced very little issue and speed always awesome. The new residence causes me lot of trouble :(

Apparently, the person that called and upgraded my plan to "Airtel-UL-POWERDATA 3000 500GB" messed up somewhere and now I have been charged with Rs.600 for the phone calls, which were free before. This was despite the fact that she confirmed that the phone plan would remain the same.

I wrote to them about this mistake requesting the charge to be waived but they sent me back this:

"As per your concern, we are unable to provide billing adjustment as your current plan is active under Airtel-UL-POWERDATA 3000 500GB (16Mbps/512Kbps) COMBO Plan and the bill has been generated correctly on pro rata basis.

Please note that there is no unlimited free std and local calls component activated for your airtel account number. Further If you wish to activate 99 Top up unlimited local and std calls write back to us with a line of confirmation."

Before I write another 'guns blazing' email chiding their high-handedness, I wonder what you guys would do to resolve this issue amicably and hopefully get the charge waived.

Would greatly appreciate any help on this. Many thanks in advance. :)

@riser I'm on the same plan as well, got mine changed by emailing my request to [email protected]. They promptly informed me that I'd lose any existing benifits/discounts and have to add separate top up for Rs 99 a month for unlimited calls. Always email Airtel, their phone support doesn't provide reliable information when it comes to plans and stuff.

Ask them to adjust the amount with pro rata rental of Rs.99 pack as you was misinformed by cust care on 121 or
be ready to lose you as a customer.
