The increments are in 0.1 db so the actual values are

Downstream SNR 30.9 Upstream SNR 12.0
Downstream ATT 17.5 Upstream ATT 9.7

All in all decent values for getting 8mbps.

How do I get good SNR? I am living within 1 KM of exchange but still they are unable to fix my line or I think they don't want to. I think they gave my old pair to some one business user. Now please tell me how can I make them to fix my line stats and get good speed?

No joints, no corroded parts can work better than what you have now.

I had this issue with frequent disconnects once I changed to the 8Mbps plan.

Check my saga elsewhere in this forum.

I had got in touch with the local NOC in my city who got my port changed.
They asked me to plug in my landline directly with out the splitter to carry
out some signal test.

I then got the Port speeds adjusted to 8192 / 640 to get better stability.
Upstream SNR of < 10 will give frequent disconnects.

This is my current stats. I live less than 700m from the exchange as the
crow flies.

You have to vist the JTO of your existing BSNL exchange.

He will give you details of the NOC (Network Operations
Center) for your city. The NOC controls everything for your
internet connection.

Do take it up with the NOC. They were a pleasant lot to deal
with atleast with me. Please approach them politely as they are
quite knowledgable compared to the other morons that
usually staff the various departments in BSNL.

Do post your experiences here.

I visited there, they told line man will have to fix the line first so it's a line problem...

without splitter i can get 27Mbps Current rate downstream. Just register a complaint with your local JE and he will look into the issue

Lineman dont know anything. The exchange in-charge came in person. He changed the small white box and cleaned the joints. after that my line rate increased from 6Mbps to 15Mbps :)
