Airtel gave me a new modem for the vfiber upgrade on November 7 2016.

Today is Jan 19 2017, several weeks later, and the upgrade is still not completed. I've escalated it to Nodal, and now Appellate Authority - and still no resolution whatsoever.

They're constantly giving me new deadlines. What's the final escalation like? I won't pay the modem fees because its not working! What's the point of giving me a new modem and not making it work?

I always thought Airtel's support is much better compared to other providers, but I guess not anymore. I even tried their twitter support, they're not helpful at all and are only giving me new deadlines. How many 24 to 48 hours more?

Am I at a dead end?

Most of the time its the stupid single person who responsibility is to his job but as usual they dont give a shit.

I'm on the same boat. I got the new Huawei HG630a last month. Initially I was given three days deadline and it's still not happened. Their sales rep promised I will be getting 40 Mbps speeds and I found out through local service engineer, later confirmed by Appellate authority that even after upgrading my speeds will be the same 16 Mbps I'm getting on ADSL2+. They're pulling the "up to" and "Technically not feasible" card every time I ask for an explanation. I'm tired and I can't wait to dump it for good once I find a reliable back up.

I'm using the new modem only but it is operating on ADSL2+ - not on VDSL and same 16mbps speed as before. Honestly, I want my upload speeds to go up as 512kbps is extremely limiting.

@manojrk, is your modem operating on VDSL or is it still stuck? My plan was changed to '40mbps' back in November itself but nothing has happened so far. Everytime they say its still 'pending' and that I won't be charged for the modem. But lo behold, this week I got the SMS that the modem charging will begin. I'm not even getting VDSL!

I'll probably wait for a few more days and then cancel this stupid upgrade. Now I definitely believe they're trying to keep their customers from switching. It's not gonna help at this rate.

@AgentX Nope, I'm still on ADSL2+. They are now telling me that it might take 15 more days for mine to get "upgraded". I hate that they are making me pay for the same 16 Mbps speeds and call it an upgrade. I probably should ask them a waiver for the modem charges.

Did you signup for a new Airtel connection? If not, you should demand modem charges be waived. I won't pay a dime more for a solution that doesn't resolve my problems. I have asked my upgrade to be cancelled and the modem to be taken back. Will see how they handle this shit now.

my area still doesn't have it, however the airtel customer care assured me that 70% of Delhi / Gurgaon has already been upgraded to VDSL.
