I got V-fiber purely out of luck, I made a request for updating my door number and received call from Airtel to confirm the same, every time when we talk to cc after the discussion gets over they get to ask "is there any other thing you would like to ask" I replied : Yes Indeed and asked her when the hell I get to use V-fiber, she put the call on hold and after two mins she replied your location is feasible only for 40mbps, got my confirmation for plan change and explained plan and modem details. Very Afternoon I got a call from Airtel service person and he came then replaced the old ADSL modem Tenda with new VDSL 2+ Huawei modem then configured for 40mbps.

I got a call from Airtel CC earlier today and he asked if I was interested in getting 40 Mbps upgrade and that I have to pay Rs. 1000 for it(again in my case). I told him I already have the Huawei modem with a vfiber plan activated and I would just like to get the speed upgrade. It was available to my surprise and I had my speeds changed immediately.

So..it seems that they give modem+40 mbps only if we agree for PLAN change:evilupset:

Is stopped receiving the calls, because I made them update to not to call me for anything - especially this modem thingy.

Lucky you guys, sad that plan needs to be changed. Hope they expand and bring more cool plans in Chennai. One question why they give only 40mbps when v-fiber speed is upto 100 mbps

@maniac123 Checked the feasibility with them. It's available. I have given OK signal to them to change the modem.
Now..i changed my mind....i'm not ready to pay for their modem..let them give it for free:evilsmile: I can wait
Meanwhile 16 mbps is more than enough for me at present;)

Its totally your discretion, make sure they haven't changed the plan if you gave consent for higher plans,as you will be charged on pro-rata basis.

They accepted to upgrade on my existing BB PLAN only.
Anyways i've sent a mail to them to stop the process and to retain my current speed.
