I dropped out from Vodafone in 2015 and ported back to my very 1st mobile provider Idea Cellular (started 1999-2000 through 2010. And then to VF because my employer made it compulsory for all managers and higher to port to VF Corp. plans back then).
Whilst at ICL as time went on and the merger was announced I noticed a distinct drop in QoS which made me port out to my current provider Jio in Feb 2018. If I were on the VIL platform I'd port out to Airtel or Jio for sure. These guys could sink so suddenly that 100s of millions will be experiencing the pains of a dead network. Porting out those millions will screw the mobile portability provider AND recipient networks.
So, please, do your self a favour and hang up on VIL before it goes on life support or, heavens forbid, before they switch off the lights. I do not believe they will fail, it's in the interests of multiple stakeholders to keep this Co alive however you will continue experiencing deteriorating QoS. What else can you expect from a Co in this shape? Telecom is a very high cost/investment business and both promoters and bankers have refused to pump in more funds. And finally I foresee a slow but sure exodus from the half dead VIL.. VIL is caught between the devil and the deep.
Jio and Airtel raised plan prices late 2019, I expect the Govt. will permit a further bump up in prices to sustain the industry.
