Strange issue with BSNL modems (egpon/epon onu)

Hi,
I am having Syrotech GPON, EPON onu. The problem is that i use ONU as the main router and 2 Deco m5 mesh (access point mode/bridge mode) to extend the wifi range. Both the deco m5 are connected via ethernet backhaul. When i remove or insert the ethernet cable on secondary deco m5 which is connected to the main deco m5, the PON light on ONU gets off and the router stops working. 2 Syrotech and 1 DCB ONU has stopped working due to this, which i have replaced now. Is there any reason or solution this. Earlier i was using wifi backhaul between the two deco m5 and there is no problem at all. It started only after the ethernet backhaul.

Keep the onu in bridge mode and make the main Deco m5 as the primary router. Then provide ethernet connection to the secondary deco from the main one.

@anubhav11 it does not matter how i use the onu router, either as a bridge or main router, it get faulty as soon as i remove or add the ethernet cable on the secondary Deco (deco and onu is powered on). I think it is related to power supply or lan cable (100 feet). i will update once i get a new lan cable. i was wondering if anyone else faced a similar issue. it is happening only to ONU router, i tried the same method on a broadband connection with Tenda router in place of onu, and no problem occurred.

I guess then its a cable problem which Tenda is overcoming and these low quality onu are unable to.

Is there any good quality onu available online? I can't find any.

Huawei made ONUs are decent but are very hard to get.

yes i heard about Huawei, but not available anywhere. Also i saw few old models from Tenda and D-Link, but not available anywhere.

Huawei made ONUs are decent but are very hard to get.

Can't understand why companies like TP-Link and D-Link still can't come up with some ONU, Is it due to some ip infringement?

@Ameen TP-Link has both EPON and GPON routers in their product stack but nobody buys it because of the cost. D-Link has only GPON ont products as it is the most used technology in the western countries.
Though GEPON has more installations globally, it's because of smaller ISPs in Asia that's driving up the number.
Even bigger isps like Jio and airtel use GPON as it offers more bandwidth which is same in the case of western countries. Even ubquiti and Mikrotik offer only GPON products.
