I currently have a Jio phone number on Annual ₹1299 plan.

I work from home so don’t need Mobile data plan.

I need another Mobile connection primarily for incoming phone calls.

Can anyone suggest something for this purpose.

Is there a way to get lifetime/annual validity with zero talktime/data if that reduced cost?

I’m in NCR area.

numerous people have reported that incoming works on jio even without an active plan ...if you need outgoing too then the cheapest option is to get a JioPhone (keypad) or you can wait for the upcoming JioPhone Next (basic smartphone) and opt for the 749 plan which gives 336 days of service

Rs.2000 jio phone with 2 yrs of outgoing +incoming.
Hopefully bsnl will launch soon in 2 metros.

I want to use the secondary sim on a smart phone for apps like signal, WhatsApp, trucaller which may not be available on jiophone.

Buy a Jio sim with Prime and FRC. Set up your apps using that number in your smartphone. Then after the first month, just don't recharge the Jio sim for a year. You'll get validity and incoming for a year.

So, what will be total cost for prime & FTC for first month. Can I order online or should I get physically from a jio store to get it cheaper?

The ₹149 plan seems to have 21 days validity.

there is also a value ₹129 plan with 28 days validity but 2gb total data. This plan seems right for my situation.

I have an old jio sim that I haven’t used in a year that still shows up as linked in my jio app. Should I consider recharging this sim with ₹129 recharge. Will that give jio prime and 1 year incoming free?

or should I get a new sim?

See if you make a lot of calls, get the ₹129 Jio plan, since it gives unlimited calls plus 2Gb data.

If data is more of a priority, I’d suggest going for Airtel‘s ₹79 plan + ₹49 plan. The ₹79 plan gives you ₹63 talktime for making calls and the ₹49 adds 3Gb of data which is 2Gb more than the ₹129 plan of Airtel plus 4 extra days of validity.

Jio‘s is value for money overall ofcourse if you intend to make lots of voice calls. Otherwise if you take the Airtel combo ₹79 + ₹49 = ₹128, you get overall value on data use.

i am using 329 plan with 6GB data unlimited calls valid for 84days. auto topup via my jio app gives Rs.50 discount via 12 coupon given at initial setup.
comes to 93 per 28days.
