Airtel Broadband with Static IP gives unlimited bandwidth at full speeds?

I called customer care today to get the Static IP, since I was frustrated by their Fair Usage Policy. They said that it now costs 150 per month, and there will FUP on all the plans. Applied for disconnection.

CC will always tell that FUP is applicable on Static IP. But Static IPs can be configured to be FUP free. Corporate/commercial connections have Static IPs exempted from FUP. I don't know if they're offering Static IPs in retention anymore.

So do they offer any discount on Static IP, if it's still Rupees 450? Like they offer Rupees 100 discount for lifetime on plans.
 
I don't think there is any discount on Static IP. Also Static IP is useless if you get FUP.

You can get variety of Discounts on Tariff plans. That depends on age of your connection and your bargaining ability with retention team. Also you can get additional GBs depending upon nature of your plan.
 
I have a couple of questions for all those who have rented a static IP from airtel: Does web browsing feel faster? Is the routing better for static IP customers?

I get 8 Mbps speed on speedtest.net, but somehow web browsing feels sluggish on all the devices (even when connected via LAN).
 
Web experience is same like Dynamic IP. But there is no hassles with Dial up. Modem settings are configured on Static IP which does not require username and password. So connection is always on as soon as i start the Modem. But i am facing slightly more Malware risk on internet on Static IP.
 
For better browsing experience one needs higher upload speed atleast 1mbps which Airtel is reluctant to give.

Oh, I thought static IP customers get "VIP" routing. So I guess I won't be buying it then as now everyone is saying FUP is applicable even on static IP.

I think I'm already getting full upload speed? Line will become unstable if they increase it any further.
