Very conflicting reviews. Can someone who has recently bought a static confirm whether FUP has been waived? Also, is it 150 INR a month or 450 INR a month?

@invader

Are you facing any problems with speed? Everything's fine at my end. I called Airtel to ask about cost of Static IP. They say its 150Rs/Month now and anybody can get it. Whereas we pay 450Rs/month for IP and got it through retention. I think people who're getting Static IP at new rates of 150Rs/month will not be exempted from FUP.

New customers should not waste money on Static IP as they will not be exempted from FUP.

I also feel the same. Those who are getting Static IP for 150 will have FUP. While the earlier ones who got through retention and paying 450 will continue to be truly unlimited.

Connection is working fine on my side. Getting 4mbps speed.

I think airtel introduced this 150 Static IP plan due to large no of customers applying for disconnection and trying to get truly unlimited plans after I shared my post here.

News about Static IP isn't new. Its been around internet since couple of years.

I think Airtel customers nowdays demand Static IPs for certain purposes. They don't necessarily need unlimited internet. MTNL and BSNL are offering Static IP very cheaply. BSNL and MTNL gives Static IP free on high end Tariff Plans. So Airtel now also offering Static IP at competitive prices.

Yaa. I am aware of that. But the airtel retention team told me that customers are misusing the truly unlimited static ip plans that's the reason why the new scheme has been introduced.
