back in summer 1999 so 9 years.mantra online and damm its installation was cool.but its was 33.6k.pc in may 1998

we all use bad words for dialup today, but i clearly remember i was so happy in those days :)

^ yeah. look how much we crib and cry now regarding speeds and unstability.

i think i got my first internet connection in 2003, which was dishnet, used to cost around 30 rs per hour. Then i switched to sify and currently using tata.

Well i got my internet connection way back 97-98 period, using dial up modem to connect to vsnl, :)

1997 just came back from college, and joined a dad's friend company where we had 64kbps link from STPI, the company was working on websites at that time itself and outsourcing. We were allowed to browse at night times. being a sys admin we had to come at nights to make some uploads too. initial use was for email then sites for some reading chatting etc.. slowly 2000 year joined a different company we had 256kbps, for home/ we had our own access server which i installed for managers also for me, from home on a 28.8 kbps modem , which i thought was enough too. 2005 i guess i got bsnl dsl at home , 2007 i got reliance dsl for a month, it almost never worked, 2007 mid onwards only airtel, bsnl has no capacity in the new area.

i started surfing somewhere in 1996 , in a cyber cafe in VASHI ( Mumbai) use to pay RS 100 per hour, then started using MTNL dail up , got phone bill of around 2-3k those days, then switched to sify from 2002 and was happy till 2006. now on tata adsl from 2006. pretty much happy. but one day like to try 160 MBPS for 30$ ( RS 3000) like korea :yahoo:

First isp: Sify on bsnl - free pkg that came with my then new 'LG' computer in March 2004.but before that used to access internet in cyber cafe & also friends place since 2000 !Changed to TATA Walky sometime in 2004/05 & then to BSNL ADSL since 2005/06. Have also tried TATA & Reliance Wimax. Hutch/Vodafone & Airtel GPRS. BSNL & TATA EVDO connections in 2008/09 aswell.Currently having BSNL ADSL Home 500 + TATA Photon EVDO 1500UL services...:)But still waiting for true 24/7 high speed internet service at affordable cost to be launched - like that of Railwire to be rolled out in our locality
