Is this information available in public domain???

Not really. I came up with it by adding together the collective capacity all of the cables that touch Indian shores and subtracting those that are run/owned/operated by more than one company (such as Sea-Me-We 4, which has ownership by both Bharti and Tata).

As for the lit amount, that's an educated guess based on known approximate traffic levels from the ASN information of the larger Indian ISPs (which may or may not include the traffic that's resold to smaller ISPs, so there's a margin of error of maybe 20-30%)

...also, it's not that precious - new cables are landing in India about every 18 months, adding anything from 1-3.5Tbit/s depending on the design capacity.
