Hello friends, BSNL have supposedly started giving IPTV service on their broadband line in a few cities in the country. My queries regarding this are as follows: 1. Has it started the service in Madhya Pradesh? If yes, then in which cities? If no, then what is their roadmap?2. Is the existing broadband connection (upto 2 Mbps) sufficient to include this service?3. MTNL provides 162 IPTV channels through IOL. Why isnt BSNL providing 162 channels inspite of IOL being the provider in this case too? An early reply would be highly appreciated. Regards Sabu

I'm getting 91 channels excluding the channel guide at Bangalore. Reasons for not providing more channels, as told to me by customer care
1 - they are still waiting on some clearance from local govt. for airing some channels
2 - they are still negotiating with television networks for a better deal - trying to get a DTH equivalent rate, whereas the networks are asking for more.

they have been telling the same thing since last year august.. god only knows when they would provide all 150 channels

Here are my answers

1. Not sure
2. Any BSNL connection is sufficient they increase the bandwidth for IPTV when you subscribe it. (Doesn't make any difference to your Internet speed)
3. I think they don't have distribution rights yet.
