Stupid discussion and debate as and always.

Who said broadband in india is cheaper??
I m using as384 plan of fivenet who gives me speed >400kbps always.
400 Rs p/m and unlimited usage.

U guyz r struggling since Govt ISPs are looting subscribers by not providing them unlimited plans at cheaper rates by giving an excuse of not having proper bandwidth.

But the gimmick is its not matter of bandwidth its matter of technology,
even if BSNL starts providing 24 mbps connection, people will run away due to disconnections. Current situation is MTNL and BSNL copper lines have no capacity to handle bandwidth> 6 mbps.
Refer to http://212.23.23.177/calc.htm

Find out d maximum bandwidth ur line can handle.

First improve the infrastructure then talk about bandwidth.

and kanishka what is CCNA??
is it more valuable than engineering degree?

So according to you technology is the bottleneck ? Then why doesnt your dear fivenet provide >10 mbps , since they have Cat5 cables at their disposal , they arent bottlenecked bu DSL lines

Thanks for the feedback everyone, the Internet is no longer a luxury, it is an inherent part of the Right to Information. India deserves better.

The problem is that its not a poll issue , politicians dont bother until they start losing their votes , government babus couldnt care less

Wow , incredible how you make out what the other person thinks

Yes copper cables were used in telephones , what does this prove ?

I suggest you read this :
ITU G.992.5 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In case you werent aware , this is brewing too HDVSL - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

i am not arguing about the technology here , Optical Fibres are superior to DSL lines BUT other countries are moving to them simply because they act as a bottleneck , these do not allow them to have more than 24 megs of speed so they are moving to optical fibres

Are you trying to say that Indian ISP's provide 1 mbps and below plans only because they are stuck with DSL lines

:hysterical:

ITU G.992.5 is an ITU (International Telecommunication Union) standard, also referred to as ADSL2+ or ADSL2Plus.
Commercially it is notable for its maximum theoretical download speed of 24 Mbit/s.

On the Top of the site u have given ITU G.992.5 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HDVSL - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia the thing u r talking about it was h.264 compression codec ........:cry::cry::cry::cry: where data is compressed .. ..... U can't break Physical limitations .........

haven't u read about it ............. Very High Bitrate Digital Subscriber Line - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia :wall::wall::wall::wall:

and kanishka what is CCNA??
is it more valuable than engineering degree?

CCNA is muh much valuable than Engineering .... if u r using internet this propably in ISP are helping to connect to internet who has done CCNA .......

It will probably be 2020 before you make any sense . Optical fibres are better than DSL ITU G.992.5 is an ITU (International Telecommunication Union) standard, also referred to as ADSL2+ or ADSL2Plus.yes so ? do we have 24 mbps speeds ? why would upgrading to optical fibres help

No matter what you say kanishka, all your arguments are theoretical. We're not asking for 20/1 or 100/100 lines. But a bare minimum of constant 2mbps should be put in place for reasonable prices atleast in major cities for now, no one's asking for speeds in rural areas atm.I'm tired of having to wake up at 6 in the morning to watch youtube vids and yes I've tried the 256 UL connection and no I dont like downloading at 30 KBps.

@kanishka will you please shut your trap?if things go how you say, then we'll be getting 2 mbps unlimited only in the year 2015 or 2020. good thing you're not the telecoms minister or we would still be in the jurassic ages using 32 or 64kbps for 1000Rs a month.think more practically. we are in 2009 like the rest of the world and not in 2000 or 2002. if the ISP's decide to give broadband speeds to us like in the US or European countries, they can, if they had thought like you we would'nt have 8mbps or even 2mbps. our ISP's are just looting us and feeding us shit. you better wear clothes made from leaves and go back and start living in the caves kanishka.

Hello PeopleI was seeing all the replies.... but nothing is going to happen....!!!! all the F***ing politicians and bureaucrats will run behind making money.... and at times of election they run behind us for making votes....!!! and there were some people who were saying about the infrastructure facilities.... wat ever may be if a politician decides then he can come up with a plan wat so ever obstacle....!!!!Shreenesh raman
