Interestingly, the director has modified the story with a modern touch, making the villain a hero. That is, Vikram here plays the title character as Ravan.

According to The Hindu, some sources from the shooting set have denied the movie being based on Ramayana.[1] The film is currently being shot in a Kerala forest. Oriya Actor Manoj Mishra is also doing a small but important role in Raavan.

the name is perfect. rajni is a robot with no 'logical feelings' that he is too old to play hero roles. ash is a robot because she does not realize that she sucks at acting.

oh well its all about the groups that have formed in the industry. actors have become parts of groups and they wont touch other directors.

Just seen trailer of '3 Idiots'. Aamir looks different (again) and little younger too. Excited to see the movie (I also have no problem with Kareena, as all Heroines are same )BTW what is Aishwarya doing in 3 Idiots :O

Maniratnam already made a movie called 'Thalapathy', the movie was loosely based on mahabharta's friendship between karna and dhruriyodanan. But it was set in present time. So I don't think he will make a similar movie once again.
