Yesterday I went to my bank (ppf dept) & I was told to submit a copy of pan, aadhar, email id, mobile no., even though its been submitted to them for my sb a/c. They love their paperwork irrespective of computerization.

UPDATE: Submitted the reqd copies, the originals were not looked at. I was told ' O you have an a/c here, I will check there!!!!' Conveniently forgetting that's exactly what I had told her. None of these institutions ask for CKYC.

On whether sharing Aadhaar details will be voluntary, he replied in positive. "It will be voluntary. But sufficient reason will have to be given by voters for not giving their Aadhaar numbers. The reason may include not having an Aadhaar or not having applied for one or any other reason they can think of. I cannot think of any other reason," the CEC said said

Nope. Democratic rights don't matter.

So similar to "Aadhaar is voluntary" but in practice it is not, "India is a democracy" without democratic rights.
