Aadhaar Number is basically being pushed as a replacement for Pan Card

The PAN is to be linked to Aadhaar because it has issues like ghost and multiple pan per individual. Now they are saying their PAN records are pristine. They identify people with Permanent Account Number and if they connect it with Aadhaar number, how does the name or initials matter? Just do an online Aadhaar verification. OR are they expressing doubts about Aadhaar database and validations?

Responding to the user, UIDAI tweeted: “At least the Aadhaar holder knows how many mobiles are linked to his/her Aadhaar number. In such cases one can complain against the mobile company to TRAI or TERM cell of DOT for fraudulently issuing SIM against their Aadhaar Number.”

So Aadhaar enrollment is mandatory??
Supreme Court and Aadhaar Act says it is voluntary. Whom to believe?
Adv. Shyam Diwan had asked the "Aadhaar Judges" : Can a identity used to identify onself to enroll into Aadhaar be made invalid if not connected to Aadhaar and the judges had responded in negative.
The court agreed that invalidating the PAN card could potentially be violative of Article 19(1)(g) of the Constitution, which protects the right to any occupation or trade.
