Hi,

I am posting this matter to warn / aware those persons who are thinking of ACT Broadband internet service.

My ACT Broadband User Name : 10592166

I am staying in MahadevPura (K.G.F. Munireddy Layout) and applied for ACT Broadband service on 11-JUNE ( Subscriber Acquisition Form No : 57495). [ 649 Rs. FREEDOM PLAN ]
Well i was in impression that i will get connection in 6-7 working days as what ACT agent promised but as expected ACT didn't respond on my request and after several follow-ups by phone calls with ACT customer care for 18 Days, ACT guys turned up and did installation & wiring things on 28-JUNE-2013. means it took 17 days to do installation from ACT side. well somehow i digested this delay and thought at least now i will get good service but it was a dream.
on 28-JUNE, once installation happened, their NETWORK engineer (named Harisha) came to my house and connected ACT LAN wire to my laptop and interacted with their back-end team to get login ID & password for account activation. once i put login details on ACT PORTAL, i should able to connect internet however it was like already destiny written by god that i will not get internet service by ACT in any condition, and same happened, as network engineer tried to enter login & password on ACT PORTAL and pressed Login button, it displayed "This Page can not be displayed"... and at same moment their local server (which he claimed near MAPLE SCHOOL in B.Narayanpura area) went down so my connection activation didn't happen on 28-June. However network person told that it should be resolved by tomorrow (29-June). So with disappointment, i accepted that and network person left from my house.

now same story happened on 29-June, i didn't get any update from ACT side on my activation and i made several phone calls to their customer care & network person ..but no luck..and i repeated same things on 30 June as well. finally i got call from their network person on 30-JUNE (after 2 days) around 7 PM that i should able to login and access internet now. so finally i got happy after hearing this and when i checked at that time, it was working fine and internet started working at 7PM. however it was my bad luck that around 9:30PM on same day, internet connection went down again. i was totally disappointed at that time but still i thought it should be resolved in 1-2 hours or max by tomorrow (1-July) morning. however it was my wrong perception on ACT service capability. i logged complaint for this issue (Complaint No: 1023530) on 30-JUNE and they told it will be resolved very soon.

however as usual whatever i had already experienced with ACT service, no progress happened on my complaint on 1-July. then on 2'nd July ,i made at least 4-5 calls to ACT customer care and asked for status on my complaint, but they are also very smart and always ready with stereo type answer,"Sir, we are working on your request, we will escalate this matter to concern authority and ask network team to update you within 30 minutes...." however to be very honest, no one contacted me from ACT side and i was like a fool who used to call ACT CC in morning ,Noon, Evening and Late evening to check status, but every time they had same answer. so now 2-July passed and 3-July passed in same manner. now 2 days over , i made more than 10 calls to CC, but no result and no update. finally today i lost my patience and i blasted on customer care person for fooling me always and not able to provide exact reason and estimated time to fix. somehow I talked to Shyam (supervisor, customer care team) and at least that guy said i will make sure that you will get some update in 30 minutes. finally he called back after 1 hour and told me that "sir you request is in progress, team is working on fixing Cable cut issue" and he has promised me that it will be resolved tomorrow (5-July) which i honest say, it will not happen at all by seeing their past service experience and quality.

one more important point, since they spread their fibre cable from one building to another building like local cable TV wala does with cable tv wire, in same way they are spreading their network by one building to another building and due to this poor way of providing connection, most of the times ACT face problem of fibre cut or some other fibre cable issues very frequently and ultimately their customers like me suffers badly.

so overall i am totally frustrated, disappointed with ACT service and regretting that why did i choose their service for internet, since they have taken 1 month advance rent & 500 Rs as installation charge, so i feel like trapped in ACT net. and on top of that they have sent me BILL for JUNE Month in which my connection got activated for 2 hour only. it clearly shows their insensibility, poor infrastructure, pathetic support services towards their customers.
So Guys at least in B.NarayanPura , Mahadevpura area, don't think for ACT service at all or be ready to get frustrated with their services.

Update : As usual, ACT people couldn't fix internet issue in my apartment till now and in spite of several follow-ups and calls to their customer care. however i would like to mention one good point here that after posting my complaint / feedback on this forum on 5-July, first time i got call from ACT side and it was from their Indira Nagar Office (person name : ARJUN) and that person told that even after 6 days, they are not able to commit on service resume and they just keep telling that FIBER Cut issue is there. i was just wondering that will it really take 6 days to fix them if i assume that there are 2-3 cuts in their fiber intentionally / unintentionally. Already lots of people got frustrated with ACT pathetic service and it seems i am also one of them.
But anyways i want to thank to Broadband forum and good to see its visibility that after only posting my complaint on this forum, ACT People turned up and at least they took pain to give me a call and tried to convinced me that current fiber issues are out of their hand and they don't know how much time they will take to fix internet issue in my area (K.G.F Munireddy Layout , MAHADEVPURA).
I was also thinking that suppose if somehow they managed to fix this fiber issue in my area and internet connectivity got restored and somehow if again any fiber issue happened then, will i have to gone through this 8-10 days mental trauma again ??????
So guys, please stay away from ACT in Mahadevpura / NArayanpura area :nono: until unless they have their stable fiber network in this area. i will keep posted my feedback / communication with ACT, so that other people can understand about ACT service qualtiy and their responsiveness on customer complaint.
 
update on 21-July :

Continuation to above update, till this moment My internet is not working. in last 10 days, i talked 20 times to their customer service guys, their customer care supervisor (Shyam), service co-ordinator ("Raj Laxman" for Mahadevpura Area) and also their Manager name RAJESH, and would like to tell you about this person RAJESH (manager) who very confidently told me on 14-July that my internet service will be resumed by this Saturday (20-July) and he will call me and update about status personally in any condition whether service is resumed or not !!
however as usual no one called and bother to update me and best part is when i tried to call their service co-ordinator RAJ LAXMAN (as i didn't have direct contact number of RAJESH and last time got connected through RAJ LAXMAN) yesterday to get status update on my internet connection problem, that fellow didn't pick up my call intentionally as most of times his cell got busy on another call just after my call or already on call whenever i tried to call him.

i am less disappointed due to internet service unavailability currently but very much disappointed with the way they handle their cusotmer. they don't have guts to respond or even pick up their customer call and at least tell them honestly on their complaint status. which is really very very disappointing thing.
Now after 22 days, after hundred of calls and follow-up, i have decided to surrender / terminate my ACT connection becuase i dont know what ACTs guys are taking action on complaint and i dont have any idea whether it will fix or not !
now i have a last hope with ACT that on my surrender / termination request, they should refund my money in definite time period (probably as soon as possible) and hope they should not give trouble in returning my advance money.

Also i have decided to go with ACT competetor service provider "AIRWIRE BROADBAND" and they also provide broadband through FIBER Cable in Mahadevpura area and at least in my apartment, 7-8 people are already using their service and now i will also join their service and their service doesn't go down as frequent as ACT broadband and they use to fix problem in 1-2 days max as that's what feedback i got from those peoples.

Closing my update here as after this post, i will send them mail for surrender and ask for refund. So in short over all, please avoid ACT broadband service and if still think of taking their service at least in mahadevpura area, get ready to screwed by them !!

Act Broadband turns professional!
I applied for ACT fiber-powered broadband on 16/07/2013, their representatives came to my house and signed me up on 17/07/2013. I received my connection within 3 days. ACT extravagant was what i chose with 100GB FUP (excluding upload) @ 25MBps and 512KBps post that (upload stays @ 25MBps) for ANY other ISP, i would have to pay more than Rs.10,000 per month for this but ACT gives me this scheme at just Rs.2000/month.
Speed:
Deadly!!! I tested by playing four 1080p full HD videos at the same time without buffering!!!! I will give it a score of 100 on 10.
Structure:
ACT server common modem for 9 people well within 80 meter radius Your house.
Freebies:
Free Norton Anti-Virus software, Wi-Fi router if you pay 6 month's rental in advance.
VERY IMPORTANT:
You must be wondering if ACT is soo good, why do you come across so many negative comments on blog-sites??
ACT Broadband, because of the "structure" mentioned above requires a login everytime you leave the connection inactive for a long time.
Example:(unlikely during normal circumstances) I leave the router switched off for 8hrs or more ,ACT internet would have got disconnected automatically to avoid unnecessary wastage (advantage/benefit for you). As soon as i put on the wi-fi router and try to access internet, it shows that there is no internet access. I need to login at "portal.acttv.in" and sign in to access internet.
When people do not understand this, they complain to ACT customer service who will report "working connection". This barrier in communication leads to frustration for customers.
ACT will also give a software that you can run incase you have a network error, it will show the specifications of the problem so it can be corrected easily

With regards to the structure of ACT BB, I agree - you will have to login to the portal. But there is an alternate to avoid it. Configure a PPPoE connectivity in your Router.

Enter your ACT user name and password which will login automatically whenever ACT times out. I have set it, and now my BB is effectively an Always On connection.

Got into it before reading this review.. Feeling the pain.. Dont buy ACT

F* you ACT its been the same story.. Simply putting we will get back will not help .. take some action. Have had enough of this..
Guys PLZ DONT go with ACT. ACT is a big time bogus company. CHEATing is the name of the game.
I will make sure that this thread and others show up on first page of google when ppl search for ACT. already i have made sure around 10 ppl in my area dont go with ACT..
In few days it will be consumer forum
had enough with these jokers
