Hello Folks,

Today got my ACT BB installed, it was a smooth experience from the time of booking to activation ( 2 days ) speed and connectivity has been stable.

I was with Airtel prior to this switch.

Strange...
Nope, it is not. I'll tell you what. Since the metering is done at their end, they can get away with anything. I am sure they know this. The issue will be raised only by a few who can monitor usage at their end, and so they get away with it. I propose that metering be done at the consumer/customers end to prove that upload/downloads are fairly metered, just like an electricity meter. I think TRAI needs to pass this rule and enforce it from now on. Show me the meter reading at my end and then charge ...
It is very clear from my readings for a couple of months that they combine uploads and downloads. Plus, there are days where my usage does not show anything at that time, but their usage logs show something. This is bizarre ... I have asked them to install a wifi router at my end with logging capabilities and to see if their and my data matches. It has been more than a month, they haven't done a squat ...
I strongly feel it is important to meter at the customer end ...

My Act broadband connection is not working since last one week and I have registered a complaint with ACT customer care on 16 Jun 2014. I have been following up with their customer care team every day for resolving the issue. The surprising act is that I have not received any call from their technical team as promised by their customer care executives that I would be receive a technical team member call to fix the issue over phone. I have made repeated calls to customer care to arrange a call with technical team and still no response from them. To be more specific, I have made 3 calls on 17 Jun 2014, 4 calls on 18 Jun 2014 (each call would make a customer wait for 5 to 10 mins and then customer executive would answer the call) for just to request them to arrange for a technical team call to resolve the internet issue as promised them earlier on 16 Jun 2014. However, I have not received any call from them until today (19 Jun 2014) and I have decided to disconnect the connection if I do not receive technical team call to resolve the issue. The customer care executive says that they would need 24 working hours (i.e. 3 working days) to resolve the issue and its been 3 working days since my initial complaint registered (Complaint # 0002218361) and I do not see any action happening from their end today also (i.e. 19 Jun 2014). I have never ever experienced such a worst customer care response towards any issue in my life and the ACT team looks like they does not want to resolve the issue even after making so many false promises to arrange a call with technical team person. Please guys, whoever is reading this post, don't be a victim of ACT broadband false promises and promotions. If someone from ACT broadband team reading my complaint, I request them one more time to resolve the broadband issue as soon as possible. Its so scary reading remaining complaints in this forum as people say their broadband issue fixed after 20 days or after 3 weeks...I don't have patience wait for so many days just waiting for someone to call me or fix my internet issue. I hope my issue will resolved soon.

I had got ACT BB installed about 2 weeks back. It was not a good start. Service was down for about 1 week from day 2. Since that was fixed, no issues. Good speeds and pings. I will however hold on to my previous connection (BSNL) as a backup at least for a while

One thing I noticed is since yesterday my usage stats (My Usage link) has disappeared - portal.acttv.in/index.php/myusage
Only the total usage is visible in "My Package"
Previously I could see session wise info along with the Mac address but seems to have disappeared since yesterday

Has anyone else seen this on their account - missing usage stats?

Yes, My usage page has been removed. Usage details are shown in My Package page now. As you said it just shows the total usage and not breakup. However, the data usage is getting updated real time now. Right time to compare any data usage softwares with ACT data usage counter.

The data usage at ACT roughly matches the logs on my router. However they are counting uploads + downloads in the usage.

This has been pointed out by many people on the forum. For some reason the sales guy volunteered that uploads are not counted when I got the connection just 2 weeks back.

ACT is cheating us. They on purpose disconnected the internet connection for the last week of the month where I had more that 50 GB to be used (pre-FUP). Now on 1st of this month the connection is automatically connection without any executive coming to my house and troubleshooting the issue. I created a and called them daily to fix the issue and they said that they will send the technician.

This is clearly cheating.

I even spoke to the supervisor and the also informed that he will fix the issue on priority, well its a lie.

This never happened once with Airtel in 4 years.

I feel very ashamed to have disconnected Airtel and opted for ACT.

Any chance ACT will come to Kolkata, we really need a broadband which can displace BSNL or at least give it a run for money.

ACT Broadband Blocking Paid Sites
I am a graphic Designer and I have paid money with shutterstock.com for the purchase of license images but ACT broadband prevents me from doing that too. I repeatedly called them and complained but I have received no feedback until now and yes I do download from the torrent sites but HOW CAN YOU BAN ALL DOWNLOADS and plus they charge me Rs2240 rupees monthly and say I can download 100GB. Nor am I terrorist nor am I distributing my content with any other sites yet they penalize me for no fault of mine.
As of now it pauses all downloads by 99% and doesn't allow full download!
