i guess they are switching to ipv6 to avoid getting into that situation.
they are expanding at a rapid pace. so it's likely that they are close to running out of ipv4 IPs.
i do wonder about ipv6. how many cctv devices do support streaming over ipv6 connections? i have a basic hikvision cctv box and it works fine over airtel ipv4 static ip. if i get a ipv6 connection... would i be able to stream cctv footage over an ipv6 ip? i assume, isps would not mind giving static ipv6 for free (or even at a cost) because there is no shortage of them?
i am not a technical guy so not sure what this means. but having specific ip per device at home seems like a cool feature to have.
also raises some security questions though i guess?
