ACT Fibernet new updated plans (November 2024)

I noticed that for Chennai, 400 Mbps ACT Storm plan(₹1199) has been launched.

Any idea what the included mesh routers are? Look like Deco M5 or M9, but those are WiFi 5. Isn't that a downgrade from EX220-G2u?

Yes had the same question. Did you figure it out @RajeshV? In Bangalore, the Storm Mesh plan is Rs 1249/mo, and the regular Storm plan is Rs 1199/mo.

Which wireless device is bundled with Act's Mesh plans?

Act has separate mesh plans which says it comes bundled with 2 x Mesh Pods. Anybody on these plans? Which device do they bundle, it looks like a TP-Link Deco device, but is it a Wifi6 model? The 400 Mbps Storm plan without the Mesh Pods is Rs 50 less per month.

@hariselio Yes, I saw that video, but wasn't clear which model exactly. But yes, from the looks, its either an M9 or M5.

Say I opt for the Mesh Pod plan (Storm), 6 month advance payment, do I get to keep the Deco units if I change to a different plan after that or say on disconnection? There is no security deposit anyway.

Just two days before i converted my 6 months basic plan to storm 6+1 months plan, but i did not opt for mesh plan thinking its wifi-5 and already have too many routers Made Airtel as back up now! In ACT everything seems faster, no more twitter video loading issue, video buffering like youtube automatically selecting lowest resolution.

@MrGordon Its M5 model. Got confirmed from ACT support. Its either 6+1 months offer or 6 months + mesh router or 6 months + wifi 6 router.

@hariselio Thanks, that helps. I guess its not worth paying 6 months just to get the M5. When I called the SPOC for my apartment complex, he said it would be M9/M5 (meaning either one, he wasn't very familiar, but confirmed its only free to use, and would need to return it if I disconnect). I ended up just upgrading to the storm monthly plan, ie for Rs 1199+tax. Just had to pay the difference in rental for the rest of the month.

Didn't make sense to make an advance payment for 6 months. My existing wireless APs work better.

Only reason why i went for 6 months plan(earlier also 6 months basic plan) due to additional one month free offer.

@hariselio Makes sense. Any idea how safe custody would work when on a 6+1 month plan? I sometimes avail safe custody when I’m away for a month by paying Rs 200 plus tax. I anyway have a backup Airtel connection (basic plan) which I use for surveillance and remote connectivity, so suspending ACT is economical.

Will I be able to do the same with 6+1 or will I lose the free month benefit?
