In chennai no prob comes with pay channel because SUN channels and Star Vijay are FTA in CAS areas. So ACV will get it free of cost, and due to political pressure, many may move to ACV. :ashamed:

Yeah. SCV is dominant in Chennai. Hathway may join ACV. and yeah as kumar said, due to political pressure SCV may join ACV.

How long can TN govt. continue providing TV channels in Rs 100. How will they earn. If at all this idea is in benefit of common why other state govt & central govt not doing this.
May be after getting TV + channels at cheaper rates people will be happy, no matter inflation rate goes above 11%, petrol price goes sky high, no jobs, no eductaion. Yet people will be happy as they are getting TV channels at Rs 100
It is so complicated! TN politics is different. When the previous Jayalalitha government wanted to take over all the key private cable operators, SCV, Marans were MK's friends; hence the proposal was opposed by MK. Now Marans are sworn enemies and MK's son wants a big share of the cable pie. The state owned arasu cables will conquer the market by low rates and will devour the maran competetors (that is the assumption and aim). This is not going to happen, and arasu cables will survive till the next elections. Every party has or wants to start tv channels. It is also possible that tamil channels will soon overtake hindi channels!!

Just to spite, sun may become a pay channeld. It is not illegal.
