Another interesting thing to see would be the highest FUP limit in respect to price i.e. Will any one of these looters offer more than 20 gb in 2000 rs. or they follow each other like a sheep, in implementing those crappy 15-20 gb cap !

i would be literally shocked to see any affordable 3g plan from airtel with 20GB data transfer limit. their landline broadband plans are pretty darn expensive with that kind of data transfer already. :) i am thinking more about 1/2/3/4/5GB plans :D with downgrade to 2G after FUP is touched. hehe.in the end it is us who would be paying for the massive advertising campaign and the re-branding exercise that is being conducted for a service that is not even launched yet.

thats exactly i wont be interested or moving or using 3G anytime soon.. i am seriously not that desperate to use 3G ... this is just me... i am not ready to run into thier trap... LOL

well airtel 2g is so freaking slow even for checkins that i might take their 1/2GB plan depending upon the pricing.

OK, here we go. Got an official pamphlet from Airtel experience store bus in Chennai today. Was told official launch is very near.Plans available:2GB/month for 2 months - Rs 49/month2GB/month for 6 months - Rs 299/6 monthsNo unlimited plans to be introduced.Strangely pamphlet says device specific plans for Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S, Nokia N8 and Nokia and Samsung phones in general. All the plans are priced same. But find no reason why the plans are classified for devices and not in whole. These are really great plans if all you want is use 3G in your phones. Strangely surprised by the plans.

I think you have messed it up. This are not actual retail plans as as of now airtel has not launched its 3G.
The figs which u mentioned ar bundled handset offers on 3G devices activated as and when 3G is actually launched.

Look at the link http://http://www.airtel.in/Airtel-3G/handset_offers.html
a little homework is always appreciated:imwink:

You're right. I'm aware that 3g service is yet to launch. But the rep did tell me that these will be the plans when he gave me the pamphlet. As i already mentioned in my OP I was skeptical why it was classified for each device. I should have cross checked the website. Shit happens!!! :-) Thanks.

But one thing which he was sure about is, there will be no unlimited plans at launch. This is the reply i got when specifically asked for unlimited plans.

blntechie I am quite sure the pamphlet you mention is not having 3G written anywhere.

do check it, with 3G speed those plans would not last few days giving a 2month plan with such a low bandwidht is not going to work.

Nope. It has 3g written all over it. 4 pages and every page has 3g in bold and details about 3g. But as devx101 mentioned they are bundled offers for new devices.

As per my well calculated guess one GB of data transfer on Airtel's 3G network will cost not less than 999/-. Anybody who thinks Airtel, being the greedy behemoth it has grown into, will give us 3G speed of over 3Mbps with unlimited transfer for anything less than 3000 Rs is plainly day dreaming. (oh yeah, then there is always this 'fair usage' thing after 50GB)
