Did u tried with your mobile or USB modem?
I got a Samsung Galaxy S mobile (7.2Mbps HSDPA). Used Wifi tethering.

This tariffs would have been reasonable/justifiable if they were providing them in the Amazon forests or Sahara desert. But in a country where BSNL is providing 700 rs unlimited 3G, its just polite robbery !

You have to count it as Rs 1499 plan

Hey, Your 2G pack is not unsubscribed? Which 3G plan are you on? Did you select any 3G pack or just enabled 3G by sending 3G to 121?

I am on 500MB (i think 6 days) 2G pack . I just sent an sms as 3G to 121. I did not select any 3G package. 2G APN is working for 3G. Hence i suggest others to recharge with 98Rs pack so that they can enjoy 2GB for a month on 3G n/w 
After seeing the recent plans for Airtel's 3G service i am quite sure the company is heading towards bankruptcy.
Not only airtel but other companies too who have paid this astronomical prices for 3G auctions.The plans/packages are way too expensive, 1.2GB @ 650p.m. bill goes till 2000 then back to 128Kbps is like a slap on face.
Perhaps this companies are not understanding a simple thing that a very bulk of 3G users will be young people and u cannot simply lure them by saying 21Mbps crap!
u need to give them a decent data limit(of course if unlimited is not possible) and that too at decent prices.
hyea:1.2GB is not enough for even surfing! Perhaps they have forgotten that today most of the internet apps. are data intensive flash content surfing,u tube and of course the heavy downloaders tools like torrents.Even some sites go easily in mb mark leave alone kb.:clap:I think even the rich will think twice before switching to this plans.
It will be quite a difficult task for pvt. companies to garner 3G subscribers. With airtel paying the highest amount i hope this does not lead it into bankruptcy.:icry::grin:

I have also enabled promotional 2 GB data for 6 months. I have spoken to so many airtel customer care executives. Only one customer executive told me that 2GB is valid on 3G as well. All other customer care executives told me it is not valid on 3G. Since I am a postpaid customer, I can't know if I am being charged if I enable 3G like Dhananjay did

Any one from Chennai activated 3G. I am using N8. Currently i having the promotional 2 GB data for 6 months. If i activate 3G would that plan is active?

Regarding the amount paid towards spectrum, there are two ways to look towards it. Some will think ...... aaaw .... thats so huge. But on the other hand the spectrum they have got is for 20 years. Also the biggest part is just have a look at the revenue they are generating from the existing 2G circle. No body is looking at that.If there operating profit is in thousands of crores in a given Quarter, then i don't think they are heading towards bankruptcy, rather I don't know how many users will go bankrupt if they keep sticking to Airtel 3G.
