I upgraded by 2G plan to 3G flexi plan and ever since then, there is no data network on my mobile. After hours of waiting with the technical support at 30p per 3 mins, the chap said there is some technical issue with bangalore 3g network and it would be fixed within 8 hours. This was around 10 am in the morning.

I'm just wondering how you guys are able to browse 3G? Are you using some different APN or is it airtelgprs.com? I can see the H sign on my mobile, but nothing is being received. Tried the 3G sim on the data card as well, still the same.. it is one way stream communication. Only send no receive.

Restarting the mobile worked for one of my friend as well, try it if you haven't already

Anyone has heard of any Blackberry Plans from Airtel on 3G.

Not sure if this is 100% correct but when one my friend with blackberry contacted airtel customer care he was told that to get 3g on BB you need to subscribe to BIS + one of the 3g plans. Seems weird though considering how expensive BB services are already. Someone should call airtel again to confirm this

Thats the kind of response I got from their Sales guys too, but I am doubtful if that will work or if its going to be a bug..

If my understanding is not wrong, in Blackberry internet does not work using the normal APN. It goes via BES. So even if you enable the 3G on a plan and use BES Internet, I am not sure if you would get the speed..

Or else it should be like you need to opt for some least rental 3G plan and you will be able to sign into the 3G Network and then your BES will automatically work with the speed of 3G. If thats the case it would be a bug and its very good option. .. From what CC and Sales guys were telling one thing was sure, no one is clear of the Blackberry plans or how it will work in 3G.

Hoping someone here would be able to give us a clarity..probably someone who is using BB Service now on Airtel.

As far as I know, BB services are difeerent from normal internet services and shud be subscribed separately. My friend who had a BB phone told me this sometime back.BB is always costly

First of all Airtel 3G plans are damm expensive. If you add costly BB service to it then we need to take loan for bill payment with a daily/weekly repayment option

Blackberry service is costly, thats true, but no one at Airtel CC is sure what the rate is or how to opt for BES with 3G. Thats the concern. Even BSNL has a separate tariff --http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/blackberry/bb_tariff.html
