yeah i know. its my machine or my modem or my connection. things are just messy for me here in gurgaon. airtel hates me.

well, after you quit the torrent client, it takes a little bit (about a min) for all the connected peers to die (if you had a lot of connections). So maybe thats the problem. However, you should at least get a timeout from the browser during that period. I dont understand the blank page issue. Maybe thats just the way Vista works, dunno.

heh yeah, me too expect time outs. but i just get blank pages as the site has died on me...and i am talking about firefox here... not internet explorer.

that must be a vista issue.. since you dont get that on ubuntu.. some config issue or something. man, the more i hear about the more vista sounds like a nightmare good luck on sorting out the port blockage mess... there is lotsa info on how to port forward the airtel modem btw.. even on the wiki herebtw, just installed the beta 1.0.2 v of joost..and it absolutly ROCKS at 2mbps... man i will miss it when that monkey who forgot to switch off the tap wakes up

Vista is quite buggy right now ...every now or then it gives me explorer not responding error ... Earlier it wasn't allowing me to install printer .... On repartitioning the hdd using disk management facility it kept showing the new partitions as new device and kept asking for the drivers for tht drive ... So i had to reformat the whole system and this time I installed both XP and Vista ... In case vista cos prob again ... But now its working smooth

coming back on Joost, it's good that they've given the option to update it automatically now...earlier we'd have to download the update from their site...updating it right now...and hoping it'll work fine too...will update after the update
