Airtel hasn't throttled my 2Mbps connection as yet .. Will be upgrading to 4Mbps tomorrow.. So will check then if they throttle tht or not ..

airtel has emailed my bill and they have charged 800 for SOD which they have given me for free (1000 rupees SOD free as per retention plan), again i have to call them like i do every month bcos of thr incompetence :Shoot:

99% of torrents we use and files which we download using torrents is not legal, so you can not drag Airtel for something which is already illegal, Airtel is not shaping traffic for http download and browsing. If you drag Airtel in court and they put your connection log in court with all illegal/ warez stuff being downloaded, you will be hanged and Airtel will be very happy to see such cases in court ...

So basically we can not raise voice against such traffic shaping unless what we doing is 100% legal...

1st am not an airtel customer, for all it matters i am not even in India !! but am a Indian very much concerned about how the BB in India is shaping up, hence the reason for me to join this forum.

2, torrents or p2p or copy right infringement is for the govt of India to decide and then the courts to allow, not for a private sector company , they cannot become the govt , the court and the executioner at one go. as of now there is no clear laws defining this , as far as i can make and i by all means cannot be right on this , digital reproduction for personal use is legit in India as it is many countries.

an isp's job is to deliver the goods not check content and shape traffic based on that, then they are breaking many Indian laws, as of now they are in wrong not the guys using torrents. they have to provide a service a guy is paying for and not decide how he or she uses it !

plus there many other uses to which BT technology is put to use besides torrents, to name one steam , plus tweeter , yeah tweets are powered by BT !! airtel is slowing down the net in one way now !! the internet works on p2p , get basic of it right, the myth of p2p clogging network is a myth , created by isps around the world and later refuted in many studies and researches. p2p or DOES NOT clog the network.

and lastly the same stunt was tried by now the famous comsat case where they ended up paying damages in millions to customers and this happened in the MAFIIA controlled states ! our regulatory bodies are useless . and one rotten Apple destroys the whole basket , their shaping of traffic is going also going give ideas to other isps which is then setting an trend in market or rather monopolizing it , as there are rather limited isps on national level, if you guys don't check this now and put a stop to it , then you are in for a bad run in future, the rest of the world is jumping much ahead in BB race and we are the only ones going back !!

jalanbk go f__k off with airtel we do not care what you say tommorrow Airtel will block HTTP protocol and i would like to hear same from you.
ISP commit for plan upto isp node so they can easily fool us making it the matter of third party software or protocol.
No bulls__t isp has the write to block a protocol until it is a security matter it depends upon the customer how he wants to use the internet.
Tommorrow if they will block SSL protocol and you want to make banking transactions definitely you will have to login as unsecure network and isps will track all your bank balance, then you challenge it to the consumer court or legal courts that day i will be the most happiest person for all of you customers.

Its not about legal or illegal downloading its about privacy and fair usage policy(should be applied similarly for the ISP as to the Customers).
Do not consider that torrent is the only source of piracy, sites like Ra___share,H__file etc etc deliver lot more to download more than torrents.

Not only that they cannot show my log to the courts as it may not be of any meaning because they can make anything fake they want its not like signing on the paper for each download so that they can prove.
Its just a marketing strategy and nothing good for the customers,
reducing cost of paying to the gateways and even against the competitive market.
I don't know which foolish IIM BA__tred gave this idea definitely he might not be from my batch:tongue1:
They damn care about what/whether you download or not.
Nonetheless they cannot challenge my piracy to the courts because i'll throw my disk to the place where even their father cannot be able to find:glasses-cool:

I'm nor their employee they can impose restrictions because here me myself is paying.:curse::curse::Flush:

----------

Go watch Po__n with your plan, tommorrow they will block your braz__s too:tasty:

I did not get you, I never direct any message to any particular person.. then what do you mean to say by " well if u pick others on something, then u should be aware then it can come back to u too :P"

I don't think airtel will ever agree to torrent speed shaping/ throttling just like a thief won't agree stealing, and seriously, I am really in favor of getting together all affected people to jointly protest against airtel for this unfair and illegal practice. What if all previous protests have gone down the drain, we should keep on trying, don't we.Let us also consider that internet users in our BHARAT DESH have increased manifolds since last protest for FUP, so now we have more eyes to this event than ever ever before. Also all operators openly agree implying FUP on their customers, its just speed throttling which they do it illegally.Keep in mind the advantages if we get lucky. Worst case if we don't, at lease a lot of people will see real face of airtel and chances are they'll switch to another operator.Any good business house would mind loosing customers, maybe that will change their mind to revert to original policies along with better speeds and more reasonable FUP.

I can't even connect to peers on link-removed anymore. Anyone else having the same issue? This is just dreadful. I might just shift to another ISP, after 8 years with Airtel.
