Yes. The thing is, I have no issues with torrents on Airtel, but I have them with MTNL.. Same configuration with both connections..

load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Trust me, its not the router :)

0.00... seems odd to me.

What about if you upload files via another protocol, say, something as crude as FTP?

@ mg i'am aware that this tool has dns already in its list.

But it also has the custom list option to find the 50 fastest DNS servers in our region, and i found RELIANCE DNS to be fastest for me, along with symantec.

Whats wrong in trying.

After findin i inserted the fastest DNS in my network config, in TCP V4 and then applied, and voila my pages load faster!!

You're missing the point - I only said that you have to program the list yourself, and I offered up an .ini file to run with the program.

It does not have any Indian ISPs in the program by default, and it can not automatically search for local DNS servers for you.

But I'm not surprised that Reliance DNS servers are best for you, since the ISP you're accessing the net through is Reliance.

Yes I agree here RELIANCE users have crossed even 100 GB and are quite happy.
I wish i had got PIC proof but don't know where to search.

1 user had posted a screenshot of his usage, that just was around 120 GB something!! Infact 2 users had posted an image of it!!
The only reason I have not switched to Reliance yet is because Airtel's FUP software/hardware logic is a great unknown.
This is my usage as of this day:
http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/1809/airtelunbilledusage.png
A few weeks back my speed was reduced to about 512kbps (my plan is 1mbps 100GB FUP) even when my usage was only 75GB. An airtel customer support fellow told me that the FUP limit is 15GB (or was it 20GB?). I was fuming and was looking into Reliance wired broadband.
But after a day or two, my speeds returned back to normal, even after I received an sms and email about me reaching my FUP limit. My torrent speeds were being throttled though, (~70kBps day and 124kBps night) which I mentioned in another thread. Even the speed throttling is not always there.

Once Airtel starts enforcing the FUP limit, I'll bid adieu to my connection.

^^ That happens with Airtel.. Their FUP tracking software is not synchronized with billing cycle software.. You will get FUPd again very soon ;)

On some good news, seems that my packet loss issue is under control! MTNL is working fine for now! Need to test some more!

Ok, this is plain weird!

I have no issue while downloading + uploading, but if I only seed, and not download, I get this kinda packet loss:

i always pause download/upload while browsing....i suggest u to do that....stay away from airtel before u lose all ur money

If u want to change my alternative advice:Spectranet, Reliance or Local cable waala(even they have better plan than Airtel)PS: 700th post!! :D

Ok, I have bad news! MTNL is unusable with torrents! Can't even browse even when seeding! Start getting MAJOR packet loss!

I'm on the 512kps plan.. Upload speed is 256kbps.. Torrents are *only* seeding... I've manually set upload speed to 155kbps, but when I start seeding torrents, I experience MAJOR packet loss (upto 60% packet loss)
Even I'm unable to browse anything while uTorrent is seeding at full speed (75 KBps). However, if I set UP speed = 55 KBps, then I'm able to browse via FF and seed via uTorrent at the same time. No packet loss.

I suggest you wait till your tariff plan gets migrated to 1 Mbps. How much is the upload speed in 1 Mbps tariff plan?

TBH, 256 Kbps upload speed sucks. Need atleast 512 Kbps UP.

Have canceled my request for disconnecting Airtel for now :(
:(

i guess airtel guys would be canceling their party scheduled for the weekend now that he might stay on airtel for some more time. :D

Yes, upload speed is 256kbps right now, which I think is choking the connection.. I'll wait till my plan is changed to 1mbps and then see! In the mean time, have canceled disconnecting Airtel, cause if in the worst case I have to go back to them, I wanna make sure its my current plan, and not the 256kbps shit plans that they have now!
