:O omg. this totally sucks. i hope other ISPs dont follow suit.

OMG this thread is on fire! :DWhat will the other ISPs do, I'm on BSNL, and shudder at the thought...

Dont blame Airtel..... blame it on the stupid torrent downloaders.

Dude why blame torrent downloaders, there are isp's which provide better speeds with unlimited downloads in other nations or even in India for that matter, for eg: railwire.in

I am on 1 mbps unlimited and continue to get 1.1-1.2 mbps on most of my downloads. Frankly, I don't see much of an issue with the caps, that seems to be the way the world is going. Even the US where caps were anathema is going the same way. If the cap details are true (1 mbps=150 GB), 98% of users will never come close to those caps. Even at a lower figure of 25 GB will be enough for over 90% of users. That said, I think there is a surprising lack of information coming from Airtel. They should come clean on the actual status asap.

well maybe u must be dowloading less. i've already neared my cap of 25 gb . hope fully my speed dont get throttled. and even if speeds are throteled in USA they'll stell get it in mbps . here :(:wall::cry::madness:

I have a little bit hope here though!

BSNL/MTNL probably doesnt have software ready which automatically changes speed on DSL port. And being govt organization, this will take time before the decision is made to follow Airtel.
