its not just abt youtube videos,Hi-defs.....wht abt National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning NPTEL - FAQ lots of videos are provided by many site for learning ,there are hundreds of universities that provide online lectures, eductational videos ---if airtel tear usage policy is implemented in upe i will change to bsnl

I'd have had no problems with Airtel's new caps on unlimited connections had they introduced caps with a significant reduction in prices for their services. Now that Airtel has control over the bandwidth "huggers" who consume most of the bandwidth, why not lower the price of a 256 kbps unilmited conection to say Rs. 250 per month? I mean now that they have gotten rid of torrent users who consume 80% of their bandwidth, they can easily consider a significant lowering of pricing. or maybe bharat sarkar has given them a license to loot and not to provide the service?

they havent reduced but increased prices in karnataka...torrent users are not the only bandwith huggers...my feed reading habit alone consumes abt 5gb/month + other surfing:-forums,etc + useful constructive torrent dls-linux,etc + videos educational + ....

exactly. the common logic says that internet services should go cheaper with time. with these new limits, they should at least drop the prices. in delhi, 512kbps plan is now 1599 up from 1499 and the 1mbps ul package has disappeared!

I think airtel is just doing all this so that it can pay off the fine (some vat tax thing) to the goverment

Well something has to pay for their celeb signups and never ending ad campaigns..

I looked up Airtel's website now and in karnataka airtel broadband plans - it seems that unlimited have been introduced again in Home plans.

now there is no mention of "Fair Usage Policy" in its Home Unlimited - Home 1499 Plus & Home 2222 Plus plans. Here it is "Applicable only for Residential Customers with Single PC."

:: Airtel :: Broadband Services - Tariffs - For You

but in Unlimited Value plans - it is still there. it is confusing now :?
Value Combo 899 & Value Combo 1199

Now..what is Airtel upto with unfair policy.

correct me if i am wrong.
