Is is mandatory or optional for the ISPs to implement the fair usage policy?
why would TRAI do that!
as for current and potential users, the thing is simple. airtel has the right to change their plans for future potential customers. but for to do that to existing customers is something that is blasphemy
of course, the fair usage policy is a disgust that is being carried here from comcast and other ISPs in the US.
sify has been doing it for ages (150 megs a day!)...
things are terrible.

having restriction free broadband connectivity is a must...
linux has massive patches on a weekly basis.
microsoft have massive patches on a monthly basis.
mac os x too have decent sized patches randomly.
it would become a mess if i have to ration my system updates to stay in the limits no matter how generous they are.
