Airtel has gone crazy :O

even in other plans it is the same

I was about to signup for Airtel broadband...now I better wait until the confusion is cleared.

If Airtel goes ahead with its unfair "FAir Usage Policy" I will avoid Airtel.

It is is better we start boycotting Airtel's services.

even TN circle doesn't have fair usage policy for 512kbps and 1 mbps Ul, so if you want real UL be ready to pay atleast 1500 + :S

heh. they suck at updating their website. maybe the web developer is waiting for orders from the top management.

WTF! I just went and checked my Data Usage and there are some days where i have(allegedly) downloaded 5-6 GB in a day! I mean WTF! Let me calculate this:
I have line speed of 384 Kbps
So every hour i can download appr. 150 MB
Every day that is 150*24 = 3600 MB(3.6 GB)

So if my maximum download possible is 3.6 GB, how the heck can i download more than that! I am surely not getting double speeds, forget double i hardly get 90 percent of my line speed. CC and Nodal Officers, you are gonna get a earful from me....

Well, well...After getting a earful from me about their crap policy and not caring about a 6 year old customer, the CSR tells me the usage is actually calculated with Download+Upload, so the 6 gb they allegedly show is my download and upload combined. Way to go Airtel! Vodafone has finally got some competition when it comes to crappy Customer Service. Wow i just cant wait to get out of Airtel

I reccomend TATA 4mbps time based plan with night u/l from 9-9 and 6months extended validity to everyone now..Though ports are blocked but it works great with private trackers..

well here in noida i am looking at BSNL once again..if i was in delhi i would have surely dumped them for MTNL..as it is they dont have plans matching MTNL...on top of that increase in prices and FUP :madness:

This gets murkier. I called up Airtel in Karnataka and told them that I need a new unlimited connection and asked him about the plans and offers. After he told me about the plans (which are same as their from the website at this point) I asked him about the Fair Use Policy. He said there is no such policy and that I can use any amount of downloads, in his own words - 50 or even 100GB with no restrictions.

All of this after I have confirmed from various senior CC people in Airtel that this policy is in fact in place and we will soon see something in snail mail on this.

Boy this is like a trap - lure people with false promises and then gas them like in Auschwitz. How sick can a company get?
