So.. Anyone willing to file a PIL?

If not a PIL, a complaint to consumer court should definitely help as they cant do this to old customers with whom they have singed contracts without FUP being mentioned.

anyone has a copy of the contract that was signed at the time of connectivity? :Pi dont have any document with me :(

they have right to change any terms n condition of contract after 6 months of start of plan.... so nothin can be done for very old cust....people got the plan in past 6 months can complain and i think airtel will be happy to provide uncapped usage for rest of period (till 6 months)also, what you (the people) can do is - pay them on the pro-rata basis - as then sue them if the don't accept the partial payment and force u too shut down the connection... as u're paying full rent for 30days/1 month , so if u get less speed for some days then deduct the rental on same ratio basis.... its all about how you tackle the staff/nodal officer - content that u've taken BB for unlimited time use... so if u get appropriate service for less time, hence you're cuttin/deductin the rental - which can very well go in the consumer court....

i have the contract copy. the can do anything in the 'realm of TRAI guidelines". now let us see what TRAI has to say about this. if they agree with airtel, ill try to make do with just surfing in office and dropping my home connection, coz m sure once airtel gets away with it, all other ISP' will follow one day or the other. it' as simple as " i will stop giving you what i promised whenever i choose, because i think it' unfair" i had never thought this would happen with 2 days of me signing the forms.

i will move on to 1mbps plan and consume double the bandwidth i use today.

they would downgrade me to 512kbps which i have already.

this is what i am going to do. pay them more but get my money's worth back.

i do not know how much i download in a month currently. but i bet i would easily double that if i want to and have to.

that would be fair use in my understanding. we already pay shit money for the packages they offer us.

i do not ask them to match the prices of west but they are matching the practices of the companies like comcast which have a terrible reputation in the US market. no one likes comcast in US. and apparently they are aiming for the same here in india.

well yea. but i gotta do my part in the protest against these stupid policies being implemented by airtel. they are going insane. the sole decent internet service provider we have in the country is going down the comcast way! that is so totally unacceptable.

i've put my protests on trai website, email and gov of india grv site as well. if TRAI accepts this, they'll be undoing whatever they did in all these years.

u r not protesting. u r helping them achieve what they aim. either get ur speeds reduced or pay us more. thats what they are aiming.
