Hello, I've been following this 'broadband' and 'Fair Usage Policy' mess closely and came across this thread which prompted me to reply and therefore register with this respected forum.1st of all dear user Sunny93, in response to your 100gb is only used by pirates statement:World of Warcraft is a huge online MMPORPG and playing this game as a dedicated player easily crosses the 100gb limit on a 448kbps line in a month.-This game has 11Million subscribers and is growing daily.(11million is a number greater than several countries' population in the world)- This game has a growing number of players in India(I play, I know)- Given a higher speed connection, I would increase the optimisation in the game and easily cross the 100gb limit- The game client is 15gb in size AND uses P2P and Torrent trackers for updates and primary downloads.(Updates are Not small by any margin)This is 11 million people whom you are branding pirates, and this is only one game. Sony's Everquest is even larger in clientsize and there are ALOT other MMPORPGs that use similar bandwidth. I highly resent being called a pirate based on my internet usage.I would also like to say I know several bands and creative arts companies that use torrents and P2P networks to release their productions in an effort to create larger awareness about themselves.Yes Piracy exists, but that takes us to the rights and wrongs about that and there are alot of people who download unjustified media and content which may be not in the interest of the creators. However it may sometimes be argued that the people who download those games or w.e. would not have bought it in the market if P2P were non existent anyway, so it is hard to substantiate the claim of Hollywood about the losses incurred due to piracy.(I am in no way validating piracy. It is perfectly right for a Individual/company to claim a price for something developed by Him/Her)I personally feel that Fair Usage Policy is simply a market strategy to push the subscriber to the next rung of speed and price and thereby recover profits lost due to TRAI's ruling. We all know this wouldnt be possible in the future when the average Indian is alot more aware and Concerned about events not directly affecting them. So its more or less a case of 'Make hay while the sun shines' for these Monopolizing companies in the absence of perfect competition.

so what is the present limit for 256kbps Unlimited(chennai) according to Airtel Fair Usage Policy.:ashamed:

None. I download huge amounts [50 GB download + 70 GB upload], and haven't got any notice or drop in speed yet. In fact, the plan on their website too doesn't mention Fair Usage Policy for this plan.
