Cable wallah set up everything in 20 minutes. Speed is good, seems problem with ping.

In normal downloads and torrent downloads, the speed touches 250 KBPS and hovers around 200-150 KBPS at times.

During video streaming the problem comes, 360 p videos mostly go good, but at times there is buffering in that too.

But overall am happy and satisfied that am getting 1.5 mbps speed at 1000 bucks

One more thing, why is it that in speedtest.net, If i select the server as Colombo/Male/Dhaka, it shows the ping as 400 and speed as 0.6 mbps and when I select Mumbai (either honesty/vodafone) the speed is around 1.5 and 2 mbps at max with ping around 60.

Strange.

Well, I can't think of moving to BSNL, because my BSNL line dies every 2 or 3 months. This is what happens - A complaint is made, they come, make some excuse, make another temporary joint, maybe ask for some money, leave, it fails a couple of weeks later. A complaint is made........And I have not heard good things about Reliance, at least in Chennai. So, I'm stuck with Airtel.

Hear from me...so far so good...got it only 10 days back...wait & watch for my feedback during MARCH...

Just called up the airtel customer care to cancel my Airtel broadband and landline connection. It took me 30 minutes for this since the ladies in airtel CC and cancellations departments were trying to convince me even though i mentioned that I already have taken a new connection with better plan and less money and fed up of their FUP.The customer care executives were adamant that FUP is mandatory by TRAI :P and every operator does that. I had to enlighten them that Reliance, MTNL for sure dont have any FUP. So finally will be getting rid of airtel. I hope airtel retention dept does not call me else I will lose another 30 minutes in office :PSo the next step is chainging my airtel mobile to BSNL for 3G

congrats... stick to the point & finish the conversation in a few mins....as you already know hearing about the retention plans will make your BP rise for sure...& dont lose your reputation at your office.....LOL

Haha! True.. But make *sure* you say you are leaving just because of FUP.. We need to send them a message!

Oh how many times I have practiced my Airtel disconnection call in my head :P Just need MTNL to install the line.. And then Ill get to play it out :D
